AI voice for ads and marketing video

Advertising is the use case where variant testing pays for itself. Five headlines across three languages is fifteen reads — a real booking with a voice artist, and an afternoon of studio time.

Generated voiceover changes the economics of that specific step. It does not replace a great voice artist for a hero brand film, and it should not: for a campaign that will run for a year, the human take is usually still the right call.

Where it wins is the long tail — performance creative, regional variants, seasonal promos, and the twelfth iteration of a script that is still being rewritten.

The workflow

  1. 1

    Generate every variant, then choose

At a few hundred characters per read, generating all your headline options costs less than deciding which two to record.

  2. 2

Localise into the languages the campaign actually runs in

The same script in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu is four generations. Translate properly first — machine-translated ad copy sounds machine-translated regardless of who reads it.

  3. 3

    Keep the brand voice consistent

One cloned or preset voice across a campaign, used everywhere, is worth more than a marginally better read that differs between assets.

  4. 4

Check the claims before you generate

Advertising claims are regulated, and a synthetic read does not change that. Legal review belongs before the audio step, not after.

What goes wrong, and what to do about it

The read is technically correct but has no lift.
Rewrite for the ear: fewer clauses, a concrete verb, and a pause where the emphasis lands. Then adjust tempo. If it still falls flat, this is a job for a human artist.
The regional-language versions sound translated rather than written.
Have a native speaker rewrite rather than translate. The voice is not the problem here — the copy is.

Which plan you actually need

A 30-second ad read is around 700 characters. Starter's 60,000 characters is roughly 85 reads a month, which covers variant testing for most small campaigns; Premium suits agencies running several accounts at once.

Full limits are on the pricing page. Every plan includes the same 34 languages — plans differ on volume, voice slots and queue priority, not on capability.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a cloned voice of a celebrity or influencer in an ad?

Not without their documented permission, and Mayantar does not permit cloning public figures. Reference clips are screened against known voices and matches are held for human review. Personality rights are actively enforced in India, and Indian courts have granted protection over voice and likeness to public figures.

Do I have to disclose that the voice is synthetic?

Requirements vary by platform and jurisdiction, and India's rules on labelling synthetic media have been evolving. Treat disclosure as the default and check the specific rules that apply to your campaign.

Can I generate the same ad in several Indian languages?

Yes — twelve Indian language options are supported, plus 22 other languages. The same voice can read all of them.
