An AI voice platform built for Indian creators

The established AI voice platforms are good products and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What follows is where we differ, where other providers are ahead, and how to check both claims yourself in about an hour.

Why this page has no competitor pricing table

Most “alternative” pages open with a comparison table where the other company’s column is a snapshot someone took months ago and never updated — usually in the author’s favour. We are not doing that, for a simple reason: we cannot keep another company’s pricing accurate, and a stale number that flatters us is a lie with extra steps.

So here are ournumbers, exactly, and a method for putting anyone else’s next to them from their own live pricing page.

Mayantar plans with effective cost per included minute
PlanPrice / monthIncluded minutesEffective ₹ / minuteVoice slots
FreeFree3—1
Starter₹29960₹4.985
Premium₹999250₹4.0020
Premium Plus₹3499800₹4.3750

To compare: take the other provider’s monthly price, convert their credits or characters into minutes using their own stated conversion, and divide. Then repeat the arithmetic at your actual monthly volume rather than at the plan ceiling, because that is what you will really pay per usable minute.

Where we are different

Indian languages are the product, not a checkbox

Twelve Indian language options, including Hinglish as a separate first-class choice rather than a Hindi setting, running through a generation path built for Indian speech. The specific engineering — transliterating Latin-script spans so loanwords are spoken instead of silently dropped, treating the Devanagari danda as a sentence boundary when chunking long text — is described in Hinglish text to speech. Those details are invisible in a feature comparison and decisive in actual output.

Rupee pricing and UPI

Plans are priced in rupees and billed through Razorpay, including UPI, with PayPal for international customers. For a lot of Indian creators the blocker has never been quality — it has been needing a dollar-denominated card for a monthly subscription.

A free tier that is a real test

Three minutes and 3,000 characters a month with preset voices, no card required. Enough to run your own script through it and decide, which is exactly what we ask you to do.

Safety posture stated in public

Consent captured and stored, submitted recordings screened against known voices with matches held for human review, watermarking retained, a monitored abuse address, and an explicit list of what our safeguards do not cover. Compare that last part in particular — most providers publish only the strengths.

Where other providers are ahead

Saying this plainly costs us nothing we would want to keep. Against the established platforms, as of writing:

  • API and developer ecosystem. The larger providers ship mature, documented APIs with SDKs and a wide integration surface. We do not publish a public API yet. If you are building a product on top of a voice provider, that is a decisive difference and you should choose accordingly.
  • English expressiveness at the top end. For high-emotion English performance, the frontier English-first platforms remain the benchmark.
  • Breadth of adjacent tooling. Dubbing, voice marketplaces, studio workflows and long-form project management — established platforms have years of surface area we do not.
  • Track record. They have operated at scale for years. We have not. If procurement asks for references and uptime history, that is a fair question and we are the newer company.

Who should choose which

Choose us if you publish in Hindi, Hinglish or another Indian language; you want to pay in rupees by UPI; your work is creator-style narration, Shorts, courses or podcasts; and you want the consent and watermarking questions answered before you ask them.

Choose an established platform if you need a production API today; your work is English-first and depends on peak expressiveness; you need dubbing or marketplace features; or you need a vendor with a long operating history.

Choose by testing if you are somewhere in between — which most people are. Almost every provider has a free tier. Use your own script and the ordered listening test in how to compare voice platforms.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mayantar cheaper than other AI voice platforms?

For Indian creators paying in rupees, that is our design goal, and our own prices are published exactly: ₹299 for 60 minutes, ₹999 for 250 minutes, ₹3,499 for 800 minutes. We deliberately do not print other providers' prices here — they change, and a stale number in our favour would be dishonest. Work out any provider's current per-minute rate from their own pricing page and compare it to ours.

What is the best AI voice generator for Hindi and Hinglish?

Test rather than take anyone's word for it, including ours. Paste a real Hindi or Hinglish script into each tool's free tier and listen for missing words first, pronunciation second, naturalness third. Indian-language handling is the specific thing we optimised for, so that test is the one we would ask to be judged on.

Does Mayantar have an API?

Not a public one yet. If you need a documented API with SDKs today, an established platform is the right choice and we would tell you so.

Can I pay in rupees by UPI?

Yes. Billing runs through Razorpay for rupees, which includes UPI, and through PayPal for dollars. Not needing a dollar-denominated card is a practical difference rather than a technical one, and for many Indian buyers it is the difference that matters.

Why does this page not name specific competitors?

Because we could not keep their numbers accurate, and a comparison table with a stale figure in our own favour is a lie with extra steps. Naming a company would make the page look more authoritative without making it more true. Our numbers are exact and the method for putting anyone else's beside them is on this page.

Run your own script through both

Ours is free to test with no card. Listen for missing words first — that is the test most comparisons skip.
