The script is visually distinctive — the rounded headline shapes come from centuries of writing on palm leaf, where a straight horizontal stroke would split the leaf along its grain. Modern Odia Unicode renders correctly throughout the app, including in the recording scripts below.

What is different about generating Odia

Reference clips for Odia are capped at 12 seconds, the Indian-language model constraint.
Roman-script Indian-language text and English words mixed into an Indian-language script are normalised before generation. Without that step, models trained only on native-script audio tend to skip Latin-script words silently rather than pronounce them.
Odia uses the danda (।) as a full stop in formal writing. It is treated as a sentence boundary when long scripts are chunked, so long-form Odia narration does not break mid-clause.

Can I type Odia in Roman letters?

Not as an Odia input — the Roman-script path (Hinglish) is Hindi-specific. Type in the Odia script; Latin-script words embedded inside it are transliterated before generation.
